“Brandywine Pool House”
These homeowners valued the openness of their home’s expansive surroundings and wanted to create a vacation setting at home. Their request was to retain the natural charm of the site while adding comfortable and inviting activity areas. They favored an environment that allowed for activity and recreation for their children as well as an area for private sophisticated entertaining, screened from view at the entrance to the property and the courtyard.
A swimming pool provided the solution. Designed to blend with the natural environment of the site, the pool is easily accessible from the house while remaining unobtrusive. The new recreation hub includes the pool with spa and diving board, outdoor fireplace and bar. The placement of these amenities took advantage of existing gardens to enhance the new construction. A wooded and steeply sloped setting proved challenging, but we skillfully designed the recreation area so that it blended with and took advantage of the natural surroundings. Boulders harvested from the site further added to the perception of a permanent site feature.
The new recreation area serves the family’s needs while adding an attractive visual element to the estate.
