UNWIND IN ONE BREATH

Respect for the environment was imperative in the revitalization of an outdated house in the dunes located in New Jersey. Working within municipal regulations the designer created a landscape incorporating a pool and spa, travertine-paved terrace, stone walls, a fireplace and lighting elements. The focus of the design was to establish comfortable seating and entertaining areas. Ocean views were preserved while maintaining privacy from the public beach.

Surrounding stands of native holly and cedar were cleared of invasive material. The windswept trees were up lighted to emphasize their character and create drama. Beach-hardy plantings complement existing vegetation to create a space to rejuvenate peace of mind.
