The snow is beautiful. One thing I always enjoy about a snowy winter is that it encourages us to slow down for a while. It can be inconvenient at times, but it also gives us an excuse to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea or go out and play with the kids. It provides a much needed respite to balance the busy lives we lead.
A cold and snowy day also encourages dreams of spring, perhaps the most beautiful season of the year. As the snow melts away we look for the first Snowdrops or early Daffodils and Crocus to make their appearance. Those small spots of color do a wonderful job of lifting the spirits, especially after such a winter as we are having. Every fall I plant masses of these little bulbs to cheer me through the on again and off again beginning of spring.
